Day 1: Moyin

So tonight we have our very first entry from Moyin. (@Nerdychique). Don’t forget to subscribe. Moyin is my friend. That says it all. 🙂
===========================================================================

When Efe asked me to write about my high and low points in 2011, I immediately knew I wanted to write about my friends.
About how God somehow found me worthy of being blessed with such amazing people.
I’m not going to say 2011 was amazing or anything because it really truly was not, except for maybe the last quarter.
See, in a way, my lowest points are tied to my high points. Because my friends are my high points.
When I thought about ending my life, there was a friend to talk me out of it.
When I didn’t understand what exactly I was made for, there was a friend to take me through it.
When I was sick in the hospital, there was a friend.
When I needed to put my situation in perspective, one of them was there, shouting my head off.
When I finally hit rock bottom, they were there, with ropes, pulling me.
See when I was changing cities within the year, the one thing that hurt was the fact that I was not going to be within geographic proximity of some of these amazing people.
Somehow, I found a ready-made group of friends into which I fit just perfectly.
I could go on and on and on about how much these people have done for me.
A few people reading may not understand this, but when you cannot draw a definite line between friendship and family, maybe you’d understand what part of my heart I write from.

This is not to say that a few (and this is very few) of these people have not disappointed me or rubbed me off the wrong way. But you guys taught me that we are all humans and imperfection is a constant trait with us.

So here’s to all my family (also known as my friends)

Thanks for the highs and the lows,

Moyin.

Yours truly writes tomorrow 🙂 See you

I have wonderful friends too, but when I read this line, then I realized exactly what these people mean to you.
    Very nice. 🙂

  3. I like the way you were still able to take something good from the ‘lows’…the good, the bad & the ugly exist for a reason…
